When The World Is Running Down

I'm not the biggest Police or Sting connoisseur but of all of their songs that I do know & love this is by far my favorite. Second place goes to "Voices Inside My Head" (although I prefer the deeper dub disco version by Common Sense). Anyway, this song really speaks loud as much now as it did 30 years ago. Excellent song writting, arrangement and production. If I knew how to make music I'd attempt to cover this, and probably fail! hahaha...seriously though, there's certain songs that always sound better by the original artist. Maybe that's why you haven't heard a successful cover of this? I think The Roots could pull it off in a way that makes sense. Perhaps U2 and possibly even Prince & NPG but it would be really tough to top the Police.

Sound of Light

I wish the rhythm could be more controlled but still a great concept and executed well.

Abel Raises Cain

I just saw this a couple of weeks back and must say it's one of the best documentaries produced in the last couple of years. Alan Abel has devoted his life passionately to what he believed in and was/is an true unsung hero for modern times and deserves some recognition. On the surface his tricks are funny and clever but his true genius is in his reasoning and execution of his ideas.

my vote for the nobel prize in architecture

This is a Buddhist temple in Thailand made almost entirely from beer bottles! Brilliant! Talk about dedication...the local people held a huge 3 day event to drink this much beer which is about a million bottles. There's only 20,000 people in the town so do the math....they even had the kids helping them.

*just kidding...they didn't make kids drink or have a big rager for three days...they were collected over time using Heinekin and Chang bottles.

Innovations in partying: Kegstand

Well, it's about friggin time! This is GOOD design. period. This should be part of the rental when getting the keg. Michael Roller is a good designer and definitely gets props from me...even if this is the only thing he ever does. Thanks for being such a thoughtful partyer. But what about the rest of us that 'practice' in our off time and use half kegs? I mean drink about 1 per day...I know, it makes more sense to get full ones but that would require me to work harder and burn calories and fat which is not a good idea when working on a sexy gut. You know, it's summer time and I want to show off my new body for the ladies.
My only question is why all of this guy's designs have wheels?!
